Dog Song Saturday: I Wanna Go Home by Derek Luttrell

It's Saturday, so time for a dog song at Talking Dogs.  

We love truly original dog songs the best and today's is one of our favorites.  I Wanna Go Home (A Lonesome Tail) was written and is performed here by Derek Luttrell.

I Wanna Go Home, and the video it accompanies, tells the story of Socrates, a dog rescued by Hope For Paws.

Luttrell was asked to write a song about a stray dog with a happy ending and given the suggested title: "I Want To Go Home."  This blues / folk song is the result.  Here are the lyrics to I Wanna Go Home:

The song is available for download for only $1.00 and all proceeds are donated to Hope For Paws.  Hope for Paws is a non-profit animal rescue organization based in Los Angeles.  They rescue dogs and other animals suffering on the streets and in shelters, fostering them in their home until they find them permanent loving families.  The goal of Hope For Paws is to educate people on the importance of companion animals and stop the cycle of animal abuse and neglect.

Pistol  

It's Saturday, so time for a dog song at Talking Dogs.  Today we're happy to share a song about a rescue dog with you. The Pistol Song is an original song performed by Jamie Glaser and tells the story of a victim of dog breed discrimination. 

Pistol is a Rottweiler / Labrador Retriever mixed breed dog.  She was in fairly bad shape when police found her following children in a new subdivision. She looked scruffy; she looks like a Rottie.  The police shot her.  Luckily, Glaser rescued her and gave her a forever home where she lives like a queen.
